Marv the Milkman Comes Full Circle

Marv the Milkman

Children's Hospital is a wonderful and unique place. My experience here has been one of many blessings. For me, the term "full circle" comes to mind. I had a very difficult childhood, so I can relate first-hand to the challenges our patients and families face. In doing so, I created the character Marv the Milkman.

Marv the Milkman is my contribution to our mission statement. He's a person who brings compassion and hope to a place that sometimes can be a little scary. My primary duties are to prepare our specialized formulas and to deliver them, but what I enjoy the most is being able to entertain our kids and families. I have a cart with lots of cows that like to moo!

Our families really get a kick out of it. Over the years, our families and patients often remind me of what a difference it's made in their lives to have Marv the Milkman there on those tough days. To me, working for Children's Hospital has given me an opportunity to be a kid, for the very first time.
